 Daminiyat Islands

There are an estimated 20-plus dive sites in and around the 9 islands that make up the Daminiyat Islands – a designated Marine Nature Reserve that is home to one of Oman’s most outstanding underwater marine environments.

It takes us about 75 minutes to reach the area which has a world class array of marine life. Common sightings include Leopard sharks, sea horses, giant honeycomb morays, cow tail and other rays, occasional whale shark sightings, big schools of tuna and rainbow runners and one of the richest and most diverse marine environments as befits a designated nature reserve.

The Daminiyats are without doubt one of the finest locations for diving in the whole of Oman and something that every diver should experience. One of the most popular sites is the Aquarium that always lives up to its name being simply alive with giant schools of snapper, tuna and other types of schooling species in addition to beautiful soft coral gardens and much, much more.
